The years are going by, and it is my turn as ‘Artist of the Month’ again at the Maleny Arts and Crafts Group’s ‘Fine Art Group’. I’ve no idea how or why, but somehow I ended up with the job of organizing a small exhibition each month to feature an artist from our Fine Art Group. At first I had difficulty in getting artists to exhibit their work, but a few years have passed and most are quite keen to do so now. We only have a small space, but it is better than no space and it does have a hanging system. We have had anything from 1 to 18 works on the wall.
The last time I exhibited on ‘the wall’ was just after the outbreak of Covid – so my works were taken down not long after they were hung and the building went into lockdown like the rest of the state. I had a diverse selection of works, but this time I thought I’d try to be a bit more restrained and to the point. I can give myself a pat on the back for having similar (if not exactly matching) frames by changing two white frames to black. Generally the group are painters, but I decided to be the odd one out and exhibit my embroidered photographs. Basically, I am quite happy with the outcome and look forward to seeing what others will display thoughout 2023.
It looks good. I’d like to have a closer look at the artworks
